Henchcraft AUSTRALIA origin story
From my early racing days I had always loved being involved in the sport of speedway, especially the open wheel cars.
For what ever reason it was the sounds, the smell or just the pure excitement and adrenaline I could not get enough of it. I started to get involved with racing Lightning Sprints / Litre Sprintcars around 2006 and just loved how great these little cars were.The thought of being involved in the sport to the extent of owning a racing shop was something that interested me greatly.
The beginning of henchcraft
In 2010 I established Henchcraft Racing Australia. As the American chain drive style of lightning sprints became more readily available in Australia around this time I saw an opportunity of a life time to become more involved as a supplier and manufacturer for the division.
I became associated with Rick Hench the creator and owner of Henchcraft Racing Product in the USA. With Rick’s experience and help I started up Henchcraft Racing Australia. My vision of being able to supply the best quality race cars and parts to the Australian market was simplified with the knowledge Henchcraft chassis were and still are the most successful purpose built lightning sprint ever made.
Building on the dream
Over the last 12 years we have worked extremely hard to provide our customers with the winning edge by supplying the highest quality hand crafted and expertly tig welded proprietary design chassis and our premium range of billet CNC machined componentry. With a newly designed chassis added to the stables the future looks to be very exciting as the new car has already shown its capabilities on the race track both here and in the USA.
My commitment to the Henchcraft brand and lightning sprints has seen our business grow which has led us to a move into a bigger facility. We have also acquired more machinery to keep up with production for our customers.
This along with our association and dealership with Guhl Motors from America gives us the capabilities to provide our customers with the very best in engine performance. Guhl motors are renowned for their excellence in engine management and fuel injection systems. The experience and expertise that Don Guhl and his staff bring is second to none which allows us to be able to supply the best quality systems for both 1000cc and 600cc applications. From the mid 2000’s through to the latest model engines we can provide you with unmatched performance for your engine with our computer enhancements including dynalog and multiple mapping options, modified wiring systems and Guhl’s optimized injection systems.
With our ongoing research and development for our Henchcraft products and our association with Guhl Motors we will be introducing some new content to help our customers better understand their race cars. Chassis assembly will be covered in detail, computer and injection installations plus we will also look in depth at car setup and race craft. This as a whole this will be the bases of our new Henchcraft RaceLab to help take our clients to the next level in lightning sprint performance.
